Single Malt — Islands, Scotland
Very interesting. Love the open-minded aspect of your review.
"With this being my first “peated” malt, I was reluctant to review a first sipping. My first taste was a predominate note of “band aids” For me, this single malt is very interesting and complex. A second tasting yielded a more Smokey essence with some grasses present. I really like this, but I don’t quite know why at this point. I imagine modifying my score to a 4 once I have let the bottle settle a bit and explore all that this whisky has to offer. For those who have never tried a peated malt, this might be the best place to start. The complexity is unique and engaging. I never imagined I could describe a beverage as “tasting like band aids” and be so intrigued with it. Although I am not sure I would buy this again, I will keep an open mind to grasp the depth of what I am tasting. Very complex and engaging. With a great mouthfeel and a finish then tends to linger and engage the imagination
