Really, really intriguing but maybe not QUITE on par with 2017.
Nose: big and sweet with raspberry jam, peanuts and pecans, molasses, balsamic glaze.
Palate: nutty, buttered toast, bright cherry tartness, salted pretzel, wood spice.
Medium finish for the proof. The peanut oil, tart fruit, barrel spice and red pepper is what hangs on.
In very subjective terms, if whiskey were music then this would have all the treble and the bass notes you want but missing some of the subtle, layered mid range that I got with 2017. Still very good, but not a profoundly great bourbon.

@PBMichiganWolverine Some of those treble and bass notes sound really delicious. 2017 was the analog version to 2018’s digital release, apparently.
At the end of the day, it’s still a BTAC...all relative at that point
Nice review. I agree 2017 was slightly better, but I still felt this one was outstanding on my end when compared with any of the Cask Strength releases of last year!
