A dark reddish-copper in color.
Corn oil and dark fruits on the nose on first pour. Later nosings produce a cream soda vibe.
The flavor profile has a unique, zesty tang to it. Mildly sweet with a big, musty oak finish.
The mouthfeel is not oily, but medium-soft with a nice lingering burn at the back sides of the throat. As it sits, especially in colder surroundings, the mouthfeel becomes thick and lightly gelatinous.
A couple drops of water gives the pour a creamier mouthfeel, but doesn’t seem to add anything to the flavor profile.
A solid bourbon. 3.9.
