Glendalough Single Malt 13 Year
Single Malt — Ireland
Reviewed
January 29, 2019 (edited February 22, 2022)
The first Irish whiskey release to be finished in Mizunara Japanese oak barrels. The initial maturation period was spent in American oak Bourbon barrel and the result is a citrus, honeycomb, apricot and spice flavour laden whiskey with a touch of creaminess and vanilla from the Japanese oak.
No. 18 in the World's Top 20 Whiskeys by Whisky Advocate in 2018.
Nose: Vanilla ice cream, toffee, orange, pine.
Taste: Quite nutty and chocolate, floral.
Finish: Notes of coffee bean and honey linger.

@1901 My first bottle - won’t be last 😃
@1901 It’s a great hobby. Love Irish whiskey and visiting the distilleries.
BTW looking at your other reviews, that's a great selection of premium Irish whiskey
Nice review. These guys distill their spirit (not this which is sourced) in a premises a hundred yards from my home. Shamefully I haven't tried this or much of their other whiskey.
