Nose is smoky and salty. Much more intense than the 16. Taste, smoke gives way to peat, with subtle grassiness and brine. Interesting to see the 16 year old's brash younger brother; where house character reigns over the subtling influence of oak. Finishes a bit warm, but at 48% it's not too unexpected. If you like the typical Islay heavy hitters you'll appreciate this dram. Otherwise, perhaps a bit aggressive for fans of subtle whiskies.
