Thanks to @GeologyJack for the generous pour! I bought this along with me to Denver this week, figured it’ll give me some company working late nights in the hotel. And honestly...I hate the overpriced subpar hotel drinks. Case and point: they charged me $15 for a pour of Yellow Tail Shiraz, which one can buy a full bottle for $10-15! Anyway, this is far better than anything the hotel normally has on deck. We have no idea of knowing how close this is to the original Shackleton whiskies they found deep in the Antarctic, but marketing bullshit aside, it’s a decent pour. Nothing complex and thought provoking, but a good enough bottle to have with friends. It offers a bread-y, light lemony flavor, with just enough depth to keep you interested. I’d compare this to a Compass Box Great King St Artist blend. Not sure of the price, but I’d say I’d be a buyer if it’s in the $40 range. Anything more, I can do better with Compass Box GKS, or even better with a JW Green.

@PBMichiganWolverine I would be happy to share any info/suggestions. You have my email address.
@GeologyJack on a related note—I’m going to Iceland in a few months. I’ll ping you offline—would love to get some tips from you
To be honest, I dont remeber what I paid for this. I brought it back from Iceland. I've never seen it here in the states.
It smells much better than it tastes. It’s just okay on the palate. IMHO
@cascode @Generously_Paul I just did a quick check...yeah anywhere from $25-40.
@Generously_Paul $70 over here so probably around US$45-50. Here it’s comparable in price to Spice Tree and Green Label - not quite as good IMHO but not too far short (mind you, the last dram of Green Label I had was pretty meh. Johnnie Walker vote blends seem to be very dull at the moment - all the good juice must be going into the fancy releases).
At $100, it’s a hard pass. Around $40—yeah, I’d buy
Pretty sure these go for $100+. After reading this I’m glad I passed on it when I had the chance to buy it.
