Sweet, super mellow and well balanced. Vanilla and caramel in the nose. Toffee and butterscotch on the palate. Short, dry finish with just a hint of oak bite and a little bit of metallic copper penny, which while certainly a flaw stops short of ruining the experience. Mouthfeel is super silky, and elevates this up a notch. Almost “refreshing” in it’s feel on the palate. Overall not a terribly complex whiskey but solid and dependable and my rating reflects that. If I were rating it solely on a ‘value’ perspective, it would be higher.
