Chocolate covered cherry, baking spices, grass, and a hint of bubblegum in the nose. Not much ethanol which is nice for 100 proof. Palate features red delicious apple, caramel, and vanilla, followed by some floral notes and white pepper. A little lacking in the richness department, but nicely balanced. Medium length finish of Red Hots and chocolate mint. Silky mouthfeel. Overall a really solid value pick at Total Wine’s price of $37. Being a single barrel product you’re going to have some variation, and I’ve had some bottles that were a little too floral for my tastes. But consistently solid enough for rebuy status.
