I bought a bottle on a recent trip to Charleston after drinking a daiquiri that was made with this rum. Needless to say, I really liked it a lot. Enjoy this rum with fresh lime and Demerara syrup, but also be sure to drink it neat. It’s a versatile rum. Hailing back to colonial days, this rum is aged in charred new oak barrels, unlike most rums today. Molasses and oak are prominent on the palate with some nice baking spice. Simple yet satisfying. If you like bourbon and want to explore rum, this is a good one to get your hands on the next time you are in Charleston.
