The nose of the drink is fruity with strong notes of vanilla and just a hint of charcoal. The drink itself is wonderfully mellow. The vanilla flavor is present, but not overpowering, with a light flavor of fruits (perhaps pear or plum?). There is a bit of charcoal flavor in the drink from the mellowing process, which comes out strongest in the aftertaste. The drink leaves a pleasant warmth in the chest, not as strong as a bourbon or rye, but noticable.
