I am cigar smoker above all other vices. Sampled this bottle a week ago while enjoying the Arturo Fuente Hemingway Best Seller. My experience with rum up to this point was mostly mixed drinks on a hot night. This has made me reevaluating my opinions on rum and I look forward to exploring the spirit because of it. Neat in a whiskey glass, this an easy drink with a big flavor. The sweetness is like a touch of honey without being overpowering, on the end there were herbal/spice notes that were reminiscent of Jager or a dark sambuca without being as severe as those. Most surprising to me was the way this rum held up to the smoke. In most of my experience, a good cigar will overpower most spirits, but the bold flavor and sweetness remained throughout several hours (and glasses) while never
