Talisker Distillers Edition 1988, bottled 2001. Island, 100 pts. Refined and very smooth, with more of a wine character than I’ve ever experienced. Oak is prominent, with lots of sherry-coated fruit cake (dried fruit, light nut and a hint of spice). I usually prefer some more peat and smoke, but this is phenomenal. Cheers to Robbie Burns!
