~1.5 oz pour for 50 USD.
It’s a potent rye with some single malt influence. This spent some time in ex-Macallan barrels. I could not identify Macallan specifically, and had to squint my eyes to really imagine that there was any sherry. This is just a well done spicy rye that goes down very smooth for 60% ABV.
When this was still on the shelves, I had an opportunity to grab this on sale for $330. Glad I did not. The 4th edition (The Black Prince) is a much more memorable whiskey, although also more expensive. This does not have the fruity explosion that made me grab a full bottle of The Black Prince.

@ScotchingHard - I’ve never seen a BTAC hit the shelf, so not even sure what the retail is.
@ScotchingHard @Rick_M i noticed it was sitting on the shelf here for 1 yr. I convinced the manage to sell it for $400, and I’d also pick up something else as well.
@PBMichiganWolverine @Rick_M It sells where I am in Maryland. Boss Hog V came out and a store owner had 3 they put out for $480 and told me to pick one up quick. Before I could decide, they were gone. I wouldn’t have bought unless I got a sample that blew me away. I think if BT priced their BTAC similarly, they would still be sitting on shelves. I might buy a good vintage WLW for $400-500 instead of the $800+ on secondary.
One store I deal with bought a case (6) of The Black Prince over a year ago and has only sold one. Talked to another supplier recently that claims to have sold 15 of the same bottle to one guy. Go figure. I’m not interested in their high end
@ScotchingHard I’m still surprised this is $450+ and sitting on shelves. I get them trying to prevent flipping, but it’s a bit steep.
@PBMichiganWolverine. At fancy places in DC, The Black Prince is routinely $100+ for 2 oz.
$50 for this is blatant highway robbery. I think the Black Prince is about that much
