Picked this up at The Whisky Exchange today on the back of the recent raves here and the initial tasting did not disappoint. Delicious nutty, jammy sherry flavors. Reminds me of nothing less than the 1980s Macallan 10 sample I shared with @PBMichiganWolverine a couple of weeks ago. I didn’t get any of the sulphur referenced by some people, so perhaps that was a characteristic of the 2017 batch that hasn’t carried over to the new stock. I will return to this bottle in coming days and see what other flavors I can tease out.

@Richard-ModernDrinking haha...looking forward to it. If it’s from cadenhead, you know it’ll be great.
@KRB80 I have a Linkwood bottled by Cadenhead that I will get around to reviewing at some point, maybe 2022 at my current rate.
Another distillery I’ve been meaning to check out along with linkwood. Thx for the review.
@cascode I too like a bit of sulphur so will see what I can find. Wish there was more information on the casks. I'm guessing mostly refill Sherry, but would love to know the breakdown.
@Richard-ModernDrinking I'd guess that the sulphur note was characteristic of the earlier bottlings, and as they had to blend-in older whisky it was probably less noticaeble. I did get just a hint of it, but not in any bad way at all - just a whiff of sulphur like you get in Springbank sometimes. My review was based on (several) neck-pours [BAD cascode] but after a few days it has opened up even further. Just barely under the 5 star mark for me now.
@Richard-ModernDrinking that Macallan was spectacular. If this is even half as good, at 54£, it’s worth getting a few
