This is an average Scotch, and I'm glad I only bought the 375 mL for $24 because this is certainly overpriced. Usually price is a marker of rarity, but in the case of the biggest name Scotches on the market, price is a sign of marketing and gouging. This is a fine basic single malt but there's no way in hell I consider this a worthwhile purchase of $48 for the 750 mL bottle in NC. I can get numerous better Scotches around $40 and so many bourbons less than that. Of the recent Scotch purchases I've made I'd say this is the worst of them. Since Glenlivet is so widely available I'd suggest trying it at a bar first.

I don't agree with the Evan Williams comparison, since Evan Williams small batch, bottled-in-bond, and single barrel are amongst the cheapest options of their ilk in the bourbon isle and are pretty good to boot. To me a better comparison is something like Jack Daniel's or Crown Royal which are both too pricey for their availability and taste.
You are correct on it being overpriced but I don’t mind it. It’s like the Evan Williams in the bourbon world. Why they charge so much, I don’t know.
