Nice looking bottle. Generally considered to be a great introduction whiskey, but helas, I find it to be pretty thin, harsh and very sweet. I like the tartness, and the good amount of (fresh) white wine in the smell, but overall the taste is just very sweet with very little spice and bitterness. It seriously is just as sweet as a Metaxa 12 brandy and that one is really sweet. And there's a serious amount of alcohol burn as well, it is nowhere near as smooth as many make this out to be. I have a little bottle of Jack Daniels no.7 in the kitchen for sauces and just out of curiosity I tried it to get some point of reference and to my shock I prefer it over the Glenmorangie. Smoother, spicier and less alcohol burn. What is wrong with me? :-)
