Buttery caramel corn and brown sugar on the nose. Very thin-bodied and mellow. Any type of drinker could drink this. Citrus and nutmeg up front, with more classic vanilla notes hanging around in the back. It finishes bitter with a little more honey citrus dotted in, and the dryness holding off until the last of the flavor subsides. I would call this a little better than Jim Beam or Maker's Mark but in the same lane, which is squarely in the middle of the road.

I haven't tried George Dickel yet, but it has to be better than anything in the Jack Daniel's line. I may be from Tennessee, but I'm not a big fan of its whiskey so far...
"Any type of drinker could drink this"...that is the perfect description of 4RYL. I enjoy this in the summer as a day drinker and find it hold its own very well against the other $16-$20 whiskies out there. I don't buy 80proofers very often, but this and George Dickel No. 8 are two that stand out for me.
