Not a Bulleit fan. Its too harsh and edged for me. Given this, I have avoided the $50 bottle of 10yr. A friend who really likes the 10yr gave me a pour and I was surprised. The 10yr is a drinkable bottle. Again, too full flavored for my tastes, but drinkable. 10 years in the barrel helps to lessen its flaws. It is much like an elegant sauce hides an improperly prepared entree. All this being said, at $50 I would continue to pass on this.

@jbarham Thanks for the heads up. I am not a rye whiskey fan either, but I always have a rye bottle cracked for a change of pace. Currently it is the HW Double Rye. I have seen the Bulleit Barrel Strength in many stores in North Carolina. I have been cautious about this bottle due to my less than favorable opinion of the Bulleit, as well as a warning by a local ABC store employee,..."You had better stay away for the Bulleit Barrel Strength...that stuff is just repackaged Coleman Gas" I will try a pour at a local whiskey bar the next time I am in. Thanks again.
I agree with you on the Bulleit - for the price it is a pass though it is tasty. I do have a recommendation for you. It looks like you've tried several Ryes. While, I do not typically go in for the heavy rye mash bills, but recently bought the Bulleit Barrel Strength which does have a higher Rye mash than I usually like, but it was excellent. Worth trying if you ever see it.
