It's fine. Decent balance, interesting hints of banana. But it's a middle-shelf whiskey masquerading as a top-shelf choice. $55 in Canada, and so many better options out there for $10 or even $20 less.

Taste is obviously subjective, but for me, there are a number of (sometimes significantly) cheaper whiskeys I enjoy more (prices in brackets are what I can find them for in Alberta): Buffalo Trace ($35-40), Wild Turkey Rare Breed ($45), Four Roses Small Batch ($40-45) or Single Barrel ($50-ish). Even Bulleit ($35) and Maker's Mark ($40-45) are, to my taste, of comparable quality for considerably less.
care to share the names of these better bourbons for 10-20 less?
