A spicy nose featuring sweet notes of vanilla and sugar, followed by an alcohol laden whiff of wood, mint and other spices.
The bourbon tastes like a rye with vanilla and charred wood notes from the cask coming through. It is sweet and spicy in a delightful flavor. The tail of the drink is crisp, lingering with a pleasant burn and a taste of mint tinged spice, and finally with the charred wood almost reminiscent of charcoal. An excellent drink.

the crispness of the finish is unbelievable. in my mind i just chalked it up to the quality of vatting and resting it recieved--the balance here is seldom seen in brown under $80.
