Tasted in a tumbler with one ice cube. Earthy at first. Full and rich. Very complex. A steady burn and spice on the lips that last a while. Expect the swallow to be harsh but its surprisingly clean. As the ice melts the fruit pulls a head of the initial nutty flavor. The nose mixes with the palate into a wonderful floral bouquet. The finish is sweet and quick. Noticed the burn was gone and replaced by only the afterthought of flavor. Sherry casks make all the difference over Bourbon. A little cinnamon, grape, and citrus on the breath. Reminds me of sangria in the summer. Excellent drink.
