Neat. Very soft nose in the sense there are no sharp flavors that come out you. Lots to pick out. Oak and spice. Caramel and vanilla cream. Hints of fruit. It’s a beautiful, soft nose on this. The texture is light and fluffy. Not thin as you would expect from the proof. Tons of vanilla sweetness up front. Almost all light, bright notes. The nose gives you these medium and dark notes but they barely pop on the taste. Beyond the powdered sugar and vanilla there is a hint of a fruit, like apricot. A little peppery spice emerges on the finish and that is the flavor that lingers the most. Towards the end I’m starting to get this toasted marshmallow. This is a perfect, refreshing Sunday afternoon whiskey. It’s delicious, but very soft and delicate. Nothing complex, just kick back and enjoy the sweetness. Probably a great intro whiskey if you are looking to introduce a friend more in whiskey.
