Overall: Nose is aweful. Medicinal and grassy. So bad I hesitated to try it. The palatte was better. Lots of rye and pepper and a few sweet notes. I dispute the "very old" nomenclature as this tastes very young. Finish is meh. There is some vanilla but very astrigent

@Swahili1 ...up until recently, they still had a "6" on the neck which was the old age statement. Kind of deceiving.
@BDanner I agree wholeheartedly. I don't get "Very Old" Barton. $13-20 spent foolishly on this "it's good for the price" (which it isn't) bourbon is money wasted in my opinion.
People around here line up likes it Black Friday when NC gets the 86 proof version of this (I think it's because since it comes in the old Weller Bottle people assume it's special). I don't get it. I've tried two bottles that I've found at out of the way stores and it is just not very good. Even at $13, I'd take a Virgin 101 or a Benchmark over this any day.
