Hazelburn 14 Year Oloroso Cask Matured

Hazelburn 14 (2019) was matured exclusively in Oloroso barrels.
It’s a deep, rich and complex whiskey.
I taste salted caramel, dried cranberries and tart cherries, dark cocoa powder, fresh raspberries and some peppery wood notes. There are some tannins here that were strong when I first opened the bottle but are starting to mellow. The finish is lovely and lingers for quite a while.
This may be one of the best <15 year Oloroso matured whiskies I’ve had. Time will tell. Really good!

I had the 13 and it was a stunner. I’m planning on buying this one to compare. (If I can find it...)
@PBMichiganWolverine Noted - I’ll move it closer to the front of that shelf :)
@cascode i was pleasantly surprised by this one. Don’t save it too long—it’s not Brora level stash keeper, but more in the category of enjoying with friends and family
I picked up a bottle of this recently, but based on the favourable reviews here I'm going to leave it in the stash for future enjoyment instead of posting a review.
Loved it as well!
