Nose is initially a little harsh, with ethanol prevailing. However, after letting rest for a few minutes, the ethanol fades, and notes of caramel and vanilla and oak replace it. First sip is smooth and mildly sweet with definite notes of vanilla as well a subtle notes of fruit and nut. Maintains enough flavor to make a good classic cocktail. Overall a great value for the price, which is why it remains one of my favorite Bourbons.
