I had a small pour at a friend’s yesterday, and I’m guessing ages ago, before I knew of Islay, Campbeltown, India’s Amrut, Islands, or the American crafts, I would’ve liked this. I felt this is like having a few spoons of artificial sugar. Probably better suited in mix drinks?
Overrated, hard pass in one man’s opinion...

@OldDude the standard Makers reminds me of green label Weller, people get excited about it and I'm like "really?" That get's you excited? Wait till you try this bottle of Bookers.
@PBMichiganWolverine I consider the 46 to be the "real" Makers, the standard bottle is a bit "wheat bland" and the Cask strength is a rich stout firebreather, the 46 is true artistry.
@PBMichiganWolverine I’ve picked up a bottle of MM 46 based on the review by @BeppeCovfefe but haven’t given it a try yet. His review was impressive 👍🏼
@PBMichiganWolverine I love 46. The introduction of the seared staves give it the finish that the standard MM is missing.
@OldDude @BDanner have you tried MM 46? Wondering if I just happened to stumble on the bottom tier, and 46 might be the next version up.
@LeeEvolved I’m hoping that, like the Cask Strength before it, the MM 101 available at the gift shop will make it to regular retail.
I found this decidedly blasé, not offensive but not much to offer either.
I had a pour of the MM cask strength a couple of weeks ago and I can say that the extra ABV goes a long way towards curbing the overly sweetness from the regular stuff. MM still isn’t mind blowing, but the higher proof definitely improved it.
