Rested 10 minutes. Served neat in a Glencairn.
Nose - raisin is the first thing I get, caramel, black licorice, brioche
Palette - super silky on the palette, toasted oak, caramel, dark chocolate
Finish - a comforting heat like you’re sitting next to a fireplace in an old home on a cold winter night. lasts for 30 seconds or so and then calmly leaves. A slight hint of black pepper.
What a solid pour. Kind of hard for me to nail it down but it feels well rounded. Not necessarily in taste, but just in the whole experience. It feels complete. More toasted body than anything spicy, but I think that’s the beauty of this one. It’s a warm hug on a cold night kind of thing.
