Nose is unassuming. Sort of what I think a typical bourbon should smell like, with no major characteristics standing out to me.
Taste: Extremely smooth! Not overly spicy or sweet, and I’m typically sensitive to both. Mid-palate hints of fruit and licorice. I wonder what it would be like at a higher proof (2019 bottle, proof at 94.4). For the price, there are much better options, I’m sure, BUT this one would be great to pull out and share with someone newer to bourbon.
A little water opened it up a bit and brought out some spice that gave it a very nice complexity!
The price says “special occasion”, but the taste says “anytime”. I recommend adding a touch or water or an ice cube and really enjoy it.
