Neat. Beautiful amber copper color. Nose is oak, smoke, caramel, cooked agave, cocoa, butterscotch, mint. Flavor is cooked agave, oak, light caramel, char, pepper, vanilla, mild green herbs like tarragon, cilantro.. It finishes moderately long and changes over time, Starting lightly agave sweet with cocoa, vanilla oak and a little tongue numbing alcohol..that slowly fades bringing back some faint barrel sweetness and black pepper
Overall, lots of flavors to find throughout a sip and nicely balanced, Medium mouthfeel. Additives seem more restrained than other XA in the price class and even their own añejo. Good value for a supposedly 5 year extra anejo, Nice crossover for aged rye lovers
