Excited to experience this after reading reviews and ratings plus I love the 10 yr. Poured neat, darker color than 10yr with thick oily legs and complex powerful nose. Dense pinewood smoke with strong heat settles to rich salted chocolate sweetness wrapped in bacon with hints of malt. Heavy thick cream mouth feel delivers intense smoke, sweet malt with dark chocolate, burnt fatty end from a char grilled ribeye with fresh ground sea salt and peppercorns ending with a tar like note. Savory and luscious, the flavor explodes on your palate. The finish is long with strong smoke, char, tobacco, trailing malt sweetness and drying barrel wood. Its not overbearing or least bit harsh even at 114 pf( wouldn't believe it if not on bottle). Its warming, rich and delicious. Yes it costs a bit but wow its fantastic. I will probably get a bottle of this and stash for special occasions/limited use. I drank this side by side with the 10yr for comparison. It is meatier, heavier and packs a wallop. The 10 yr has the smoke more dominate in its profile and for the money is better value but hey you only live once so get both! .........96/100

@cascode @Scott_E now I really want to revisit it…just don’t want an entire bottle. I wish we in the US wisened up a bit and were allowed to buy samples
I was just thinking the other day that it’s been several years since I had any Ardbeg apart from the 10 year old. Must pick up an Uigeadail soon - it was my favourite of their core-range NAS expressions.
@PBMichiganWolverine not have I. I still have my bottle from many moons ago. Never fully finished.
@Scott_E I’ve not had it in years—-curious if the quality went down
@PBMichiganWolverine I was just thinking the same thing and saw your comments. I agree and given the choice of one, I would choose Ugi. However, both are great pours and you can’t loose out on either one.
@Ctrexman out of Ardbeg’s core range, yeah…Oogie is my favorite. Maybe out of any Islay core range. It’s been years since I’ve had it, hoping the quality has held up
Just finished a full bottle of this smokebomb. Its still a major Islay player and absolutely fantastic but I like Oogie a click better
