Wasn’t a tasting notes kind of setting but the blending was very well done. And I could drink this about anytime. Had I tasted blind I would have thought this was a moderated peated Islay. Not a meaty, salty one like Springbank, but a sweet smoke like laphroiag or highland park (just minus the bandaids). I find this quite enjoyable. New plan - return to friends house who bought on a recommendation but “not his cup of tea” and do him a solid by draining it. Only real knock would be the near $70 retail. All day at 50-55.

@BDanner agree. At that price I just can’t justify it, despite a desire to keep HW going
@PBMichiganWolverine I will be on the lookout for it. Certainly going to be a change of pace from the MGP stock but I’ve always been a fan.
I was surprised at how much the rye stood out in my bottle. I really like Campfire, but it's over $70 here so I've only purchased the one bottle so far.
High West came out with High Country—-their first 100% distilled whiskey...not sure if it’s widely available or only at the distillery ( I’m guessing latter, just because of production volume), but that would be great to try
This one retails at $55 in Texas. At that price it’s one of my five star drams, if for nothing else than it’s uniqueness on the market.
