The peat is almost overpowering, and may turn some away. But that same bold peat overtone is what makes this scotch a true joy to the pallet. The finish lasts for what seems like an eternity. I was eventually left wondering if the neighbors had fired up their chimneys, but it was indeed the Laphroaig 10 providing me with a hint of Isla on a chilly night. Smooth, powerful, and pungent, a true Isla wonder.
