Compass Box Spice Tree
Blended Malt — Scotland

I cannot think of any whisky more appropriately named. The spice tree delivers spice, spice, and more spice.
The nose is, as you’d expect, full of spices. If your mother dropped her spice rack on the floor and broke all the containers, I’d imagine it would have a similar fragrance. The dominate aromas are clove and cinnamon.
The palate is spicy and complex with ginger taking over the dominate flavor. There is some toffee behind those spices. A few drops of water open up those complex flavors making them more palatable.
The finish is long with orange peel and pepper on your tongue. This scotch will clear up your sinuses.
This is a great scotch but be warned, it may not be for beginners. Some scotches are peat monsters, but this is a spice monster!
It’s also worth noting, the bottle has some great artwork which blends beautifully with the color of the whisky. Very good looking bottle.

@02vettez06 this was also my first CB bottling. I tried the rest of their core range this year, and the limited editions are hit and miss, often too expensive for what you get. This one is by far my favorite and the only one I’d re-buy. I totally agree that this is not a beginner pour though. I have to be in the right mood for this one, and it wasn’t a good summer dram. Now that it’s chilly again it’s a lovely warmer! Cheers on a great review!
@Ctrexman This was my first one and it’s really unique. I’m curious how some of their other blends taste.
Havent had any Compass Box yet.........Thinking Glasgow to break ice
Nice review. Is indeed a classic!
