I'm lucky I've got to try some really good NZ gins recently, a lot of small batch stuff brewed specifically for the season. This is not one of those. Taste is insipid and artificial (as is the colour) I'll be pouring a good NZ tonic in to rescue this one.

@Richard-ModernDrinking Wow that'd be my dream..start a distillery and cash in. Win win!
Fun fact: This brand was created by someone who lives in my town and recently sold it to Pernod. That’s how we roll in my neighborhood.
@cascode Yes I agree. I didn't like juniper for ages but now I really like that providing a strong backbone and then good quality ingredients to complement. This just doesn't taste like they used real blood oranges. More like 'natural blood orange flavoring' has been added. The thing is with 'natural flavoring' is to me it still tastes artificial whatever the food or beverage.
I've not had this one but I did have a bottle of the lemon flavoured version. It was OK but all you could really taste was lemon flavouring. It made adding a slice of lemon to the G&T unnecessary, which was about the best thing. It's sort of odd, gin being just a flavoured vodka and all, that there's a point where it stops being legit and becomes too obviously "flavoured". I felt much the same about the Tanqueray "flavoured" range, etc. Once you put in enough essence to swamp the juniper and natural nuances, you've gone too far IMHO.
