My local bottler seems to have a lot of spirit tastings at the moment. This time it was Japanese style; sake, plum wine and this gin. It is a very interesting style with the pine and pepper flavours coming through strongly. I'm really enjoying my gin journey as there is so much variety in the botanicals used around the world.

@Soba45 I'm a big fan of Roku - it is not too heavy on the juniper and has wonderful hints of green tea and mild citrus. It's also very reasonably priced, and is my favourite middle-shelf gin at the moment.
@cascode Hmm maybe years ago when I didn't like gin so that one is one of the next on my list :-)
@cascode Yes I'm not even going to try to get through all the distillery's.. there must be 10s of thousands world wide! Really interesting trying regional ingredients through gin.
@Soba45 Gin is fascinating, isn't it. Totally different to whisky - all science, precise engineering and gastronomy. You can make this stuff in a bathtub in the morning and bottle it for sale that afternoon - literally. Gotta love that :-)
The Japanese are creating some wonderful gins. Have you tried Roku?
