Have seen many positive reviews on this so I went ahead and got it for $33 on sale. This is sourced bourbon though they will be producing their own soon. Poured neat, good legs and nice mouthfeel. Nose has vanilla, black cherry and a touch of rye spice. Some heat on the nose but not overbearing. Palate is sweet vanilla with cherry oak, mild caramel nuttiness and heat. Not a lot of body but the cherry vanilla is focused. Finish is medium with spice, oak and lingering sweetness. It runs a little hot as the proof doesn't expand and bloom the flavors just adds heat. My preference leans to the sweet side but would not repurchase. Its not bad, just not enough complexity, balance or depth to warrant price......71/100.....I paid $33 but at $40 or more there are so many better choices for same or less just steer clear imo

With the increased demand, the top choices probably go to the highest payers ( like Michter’s), making the others get the second choices
Agreed sourced is usually not good.........but I really like Belle Meade, Michters(unblended) and enjoyed Clyde Mays
Yeah I've found with sourced bourbon they often start out great but due to the whiskey boom all the good stuff drys up and they start pumping out lower quality stuff. Noah's Mill, Rowans Creek, Johnny Drum, Highwest and so on. I'm over buying anything sourced now unless a special one off release which people rave about because you know that won't deteriorate by the time you get your hands on a bottle.
Yeah its thin, hot and sweet.......great for a woman not so much for a bourbon
You and I are on the same page with this one man! Great review and cheers! I think I gave it the same rating as well!
