Benromach 15 Year
Single Malt — Speyside, Scotland
Reviewed

I’m drinking this tonight in London with my father, who bought a bottle after Whisky Exchange crowned it whisky of the year. Benromach is near the top of my bang-for-your-buck list and this is perhaps the best I’ve had from them. The nose is a little shy but the taste is a beautiful mix of butterscotch and peat, not too sweet or too smoky. The finish goes on and on, the caramel flavors twisting with the spiciness of the smoke. For 50 pounds, a bargain.

@cascode Cheers!
@Soba45 Thanks for the tip!
@jonwilkinson7309 Yip check out the review from our local whiskey club retailer https://www.regionalwines.co.nz/blogs/news/big-whiskies-battle-it-out-at-best-of-the-best
@cascode Not yet but Regional wines here do monthly tastings and out of 70 spirits over the year it came second only to a $700 single cask Glendronach on the final night when all the top spirits of each monthly round had the end of the year best of the best and the people who participated are serious whiskey drinkers. https://www.regionalwines.co.nz/blogs/news/big-whiskies-battle-it-out-at-best-of-the-best
@Soba45. I have a bottle of it as well, unopened. One that I'm really looking forward to!
I have yet to have anything from Benromach that missed the mark. The 15 is not yet a part of my collection, and it needs to be!
@Soba45 Oh, have you tasted it yet? I saw a bottle of that the other day and was wondering what it was like.
Great review of great whisky from one of my favourite distilleries.
They released a 10 yr cs Peat Sherry combo recently which people raved about. Managed to snaffle a last bottle :-)
