The first time I tasted the 7 year old Don Papa rum, I was really delighted by its sweetness and its taste of vanilla. I had the impression of drinking a delicious syrup. After a second drink, I changed my mind. I started having a stomach ache. I searched the internet if other people had the same problem. I came across a laboratory analysis: Glycerol 2.4g/L, Sugar 29g/L, Vanillin 259mg/L.
It's more of a flavored and sweetened artificially rum.
I use it now only to make pastries ...
