Quick hit review...after a long day moving my daughter into NC State, grabbed a late pour at the on campus hotel where we are staying. Saw it on the shelf and thought “What the heck?” A generous pour in a rocks glass yields lots of “red” notes (appropriate for NCSU). Cherry Cough Syrup, Red Apple, and Cinnamon. A healthy dose of bitter oak and tons of heat on the finish spoil this one. Better than I remember, but still only a 3.

It's only been a few years since we referred to this as "Ridgemont Reserve" until the recent rick house collapse the supply glut meant great prices on it. BT-Sazerac unscrupulously pushed truck loads of this on stores just to get 1 bottle of Pappy. If only the FBI was serving the public the way it should be!
Elijah Craig is definitely the superior $30 small batch
@Ctrexman yes. Tonight’s pour was Laphroaig 10. Lots of smoke, but no heat.
yes the dreaded 1792 heat fest
