I got the most oddly specific sense memory while drinking this... but it's eating dinner at a Western Sizzlin (a buffet chain in the Southeast) while at the beach. I've never experienced Ardbeg being this light before. Usually, I get punched in the face with some vicious smoke and meaty flavors, but this time it eased up quite a bit. A lot more lightness on the nose with some almost beachy smells coming in. A lot of that saltwater, briny smell. The taste brings forth a bit more of that bacon bits flavor I'm used to, but I keep finding this almost lemon-apple note throughout this tasting. I'm not sure what it is. A really interesting dram, that's to be sure.
