Oh I really like this one...it’s dirty pretty.
Thanks to @Richard-ModernDrinking for the sample. It’s Friday night, which means I’m rummaging through my samples, wondering what to have for my weekly pour. This one falls out of my hand , lands hard on the floor, and the cap breaks. Who am I to argue with Dionysus when he has so judiciously pointed me in the right direction?
I’m a huge Talisker and Springbank fanboy, so therefore, that fandom naturally extends to its siblings. Give this some air to breathe, a bit of water, and you’re greeted with an amazing nose. Nose is all cherry vanilla ice cream. Taste unfortunately is a step or two down from the aroma: almost gritty fruity. Lingering heat in the finish.
If you’re a fan of Springbank, this is right up your alley. Thanks Richard for the pour!

@PBMichiganWolverine Ouch! Despite being rather unhappy about my mishap, I did realize it could have been much worse...
@Soba45 a single sherry cask Chichibu. I still wake up at night screaming from that experience.
@jonwilkinson7309 fortunatley, this was just a small sample vial. and only the cap, broke. But I did once break a very expensive bottle of Chichibu —-that was cry-worthy.
@jonwilkinson7309 Ah man that sucks. Ever since @PBMichiganWolverine smashed a whole rare expensive bottle I've always had that at the back of my mind when handling anything I care about!
I feel just slightly better knowing that I'm not the only one who broke a whisky bottle today. Unfortunately, my incident involved knocking an unopened bottle of Uigeadail off the shelf. It shattered, and yes, for a split second I considered lapping it off the floor. Thanks for the review! Longrow is not always easy to track down, but I need to try more of them!
Sounds like this scotch is a bad girl....
