A mediocre, mid-bottom shelf bourbon with a slightly different flavor profile than standard Jim Beam or Elijah Craig. So don't be fooled by the distillery's campaign of artificially created scarcity. It's not better than either of those two bourbons. Just different. It might be rare in your state, but I can buy it by the case in New Jersey at retail.
To me, BT is the definition of a forgettable, well bourbon. Too bad it's been priced out of that class (it used to be $16, now I can't find it under $28).
It's not offensive. There’s enough here for someone who is just getting into bourbon, or for use in mixed drinks. Personally, I never reach for it neat and actually prefer Woodford Reserve or Jim Beam Black, which is similarly priced.
