Maybe this one has been opened a while as i'm not really getting the flavor notes Lee noted. It's a lighter quite muddled dram, not bad not great not really anything distinct. Just a nice warming lightly flavored dram..the aftertaste effect is odd. Warms each side of the tongue but quite barren down the middle. Hasn't changed my opinion of Dalmore! Thanks anyhow @LeeEvolved now onto the masterpiece....

@Soba45 @LeeEvolved I’m probably less like USA or Russia in the armaments capability, and more like India. You know that the armaments are there, but it’s so rarely used. Or maybe like Saddam’s Iraq—-it’s all buried and can’t be found anymore.
@LeeEvolved oh and I included GD 18 samples for you and @PBMichiganWolverine i believe in the package you now have :-)
@LeeEvolved 😱🤪🤯 Oh sweet JC (apologies for blasphemy-my dad trained to be a catholic priest so hopefully that gets me free pass 😁). If any of the 25, 33 or 15 Tawny GD come my way I would be forced in good conscience to do an early release of my reserve stock to the worthy recipients..hint hint..haha... I'm not sure if this would be like a mutual destruction session in that we release our big guns all at once then destroy our capacity for enjoyment of whiskey thereafter (me being more North Korea in terms of whiskey armaments you and @PBMichiganWolverine being the Soviet Union and USA..lol)
It’s been awhile since I finished the 18 I had, but I have so many Glendronach offerings tucked away here I certainly don’t need a full bottle. Now if you’d like to save a dram or two for the next time we swap samples, that would be more than enough. Looking through my bottle list I have the 10 Forgue, 15 Tawny Port, an old 15 Revival, 2 Platinum 16’s, 2 Master 25’s and the venerable 33 year old collecting dust behind the bar. I’m gonna pop that Revival at some point and I’ve heard the 33yo might be the greatest sherry cask scotch ever bottled. I just need the courage to pop the top on these bottles. You can’t take them with you, lol.
@LeeEvolved It was a testament to the awesomeness of the rest of the drams you sent me that this just paled in comparison. I guess i'm just quite spoiled these days as well so a dram has to have great balance, body and complexity of flavor to rate highly otherwise it's a good but not great rating. In other news I've just ordered another 2 of the old Glendronach 18 year bottlings (I now have a rare for me 5 stockpiled). They are under $100USD here which is excellent value. I remembered you are a fan so not sure how I can get them outside the country yet (aromatherapy sample probably won't fly :-)) but if I could you interested?
I really enjoyed this for the price and the fact it inspired the Dalmore version. I think I would’ve loved this at a slightly higher ABV and with a little more malt character. It was a tad thin, IIRC. Excellent review.
