Slainte-Mhath
Bushmills 10 Year Single Malt
Single Malt — Ireland

On the banks of the River Bush, there used to be a watermill, hence the name 'Bushmills'. Licensed in 1608, it's one of the oldest distilleries in the world. Light and engaging, the nose of this triple distilled single malt combines sour peaches, orange peel and mild spices with delicate notes of chive and thyme. Remarkably solid for 40% ABV, the palate is fruity, malty sweet and well-balanced. Banana, pears and a touch of menthol are rounded off by pleasant hints of oak. Lime, fresh mint and some bitter tannins mark the short finish. The Irish Glenfiddich?

@PBMichiganWolverine So far they are doing okay, hospitalized cases and those needing respirator are more or less stable. The country is on complete lockdown but it has at least stopped exponential increase of new cases.
@Slainte-Mhath how is the health systems managing the crisis there ? Are hospitals overloaded, lack of PPE, and health care workers over burdened ?
@Slainte-Mhath I just saw a graphic that had Norway at the bottom for confirmed European cases, so either you were very unlucky or your testing lags the others. Glad you’re on the mend.
@PBMichiganWolverine Our numbers are relatively low, but that is because most people are not being tested. Only risk group people with symptoms who are admitted to the hospital and health personnel is being tested. Estimates are in the 20,000 - 30,000 cases in Norway. I have not been tested myself (no risk group), but I am a virologist and have been working on SARS-CoV-2 bioinformatics before I became ill. I know this disease, and I am 100% sure that both me and my wife have it. My case is milder than my wife's, she has had fever in 2.5 weeks, no appetite, complete loss of smell, fatigue... It's pretty bad, but we are already on day 19 with symptoms, and we did not cross the line where things can become really bad.
@Slainte-Mhath how bad is the nCV19 there in Oslo? I’m in the NJ/NYC area—-it’s pretty bad here. I think we’re the new epicenter. Are tests readily available in Norway ? ( I would think so—Scandinavia has a better health system than ours in US )
Thanks to all of you, I hope to be back in top form soon! @Richard-ModernDrinking I live in Oslo, Norway.
Glad you are feeling well enough to dabble with a dram again. Best wishes for a continued recovery and hope no one else around you has to suffer similarly. Hang in there.
@Slainte-Mhath where do you live?
@Slainte-Mhath Good to hear that you are recovering. Hope you’re back in top form soon.
@Slainte-Mhath Glad you’re feeling better. Wish you a Speedy(ier) recovery!
Sad to hear it. Wish you a complete recovery.
@Slainte-Mhath Ah terrible to hear but glad you are on the mend!
Sorry to hear you caught it, but happy to hear you are on the mend. Detroit has become one of the US hotspots apparently, so other than taking walks in a nearby park and essential grocery shopping, my family and I have pretty much become shut-ins.

It's still work in progress, you wouldn't believe how persistent Covid-19 is. After 2 weeks of continuous fever, I started to feel a bit better. My lungs are still burning, but I hope the worst part is over. Fingers crossed.
@Slainte-Mhath oh no, you’ve exposed us! Seriously somebody called our ER concerned because she FaceTime’d someone with COVID. Glad you’re on the mend!
Sorry you’re feeling under the weather. Glad you still get to enjoy a nice single malt.
@Slainte-Mhath I’m so sorry you got it—but glad to hear you’re recovering!
@Slainte-Mhath Here's to your continued recovery. I think I'll re-visit my bottle of Bushmill's 10 tonight and drink to your continued health. Cheers!
@Slainte-Mhath - congrats on a successful recovery. Hope all others are well around you.
Sorry to hear you caught it, but glad you got through it. Stay safe.
Additional comment: After struggling with Covid-19 for more than two weeks, I am slowly crawling back to life. A terrible experience, which I don't recommend to seek out. Take care malt mates, and stay healthy!
