Springbank 10 Year
Single Malt — Campbeltown, Scotland

Sweet highlights are threaded with a salty tang. The Campbeltown funk translates to me as a salty, tangy, and mildly chemical flavor. Adding water turns it into something lighter and more watery than most other bourbon-casked peers, reminding me of tequila reposado or a rum. I won't be purchasing another bottle again. The Kilkerran 12 is a much tastier Campbeltown scotch.
My Rating Glossary:
Two Stars: "I'd rather be drinking lite beer."
Two 1/2 Stars: "Posh rubbish."
Three Stars: "I love whisk(e)y. This is average love."
Three 1/2 Stars: "May buy again."
Four Stars: "I've got to get you into my life."
Four 1/2 Stars: "Better than drugs."
Five Stars: "Life is good. Whisky makes it better."

@DigitalCork No Springbank enthusiast would have the bad taste to flame you for not liking their beloved distillery's output. We just breathe a sigh of relief every time we find out there is one less person competing for the bottles 😁
I luv the malty Deanston12 though. Profile just works for me.Been seriously considering the 18
We like what we like no worries . I dont like WT Rare Breed or Four Roses SB or Bowmore12 all of which most enjoy. Dont even get me started on Takillya
@Ctrexman The Springbank 10 I had could've been from a nasty batch. But at $80 a bottle, I admit I'm not eager to have a go at it again. But as we have loads of Springbank fanboys on this website, I don't want this to blow up in my face. Let me just walk this back and say I had like experiences with the Glengoyne and Deanston 12. (Although the Deanston was overly malty and grain driven, instead salty or mineraly.) The two are different, yes, but they didn't jibe with my flavor profile either..
This is a bit of a different profile though I do get a resemblance to HP12
Im a little surprised with the lite beer score but taste is so subjective thats how it goes
