Well a little disappointing so far. My bottle has now been opened for 10 weeks now, 1 inch below neck pour, and tasting again as I write this review. Harsh alcohol burn with some funky flavors. Altogether my feeling is = Meh! I'll check in another month to see if things have toned down and mellowed out from oxidation.

I had this experience as well! The body of the first bottle I purchased (bottled Jan 28, 2020) is thin with a harsh alcohol burn. It has a dominant peat note (no smoke). In general, I prefer that and drink Islays, but the amount of peat surprised me given the reviews which frequently mentioned a very light peat. To be honest, that first bottle tastes like a 3-5 year old whisky as well. I purchased another bottle with the bottling date of August 2019 and it seems to be better. The first bottle lacks complexity, but the second, while not mindblowing, is good. However, it does seem to have almost a disjointed, stomach acidy/vomit note to the nose. Overall, the Jan 28th 2020 seems to be a bit of a dud bottling. Maybe try finding an older one.
