Bunnahabhain Cruach Mhòna
Single Malt — Islay, Scotland

This is an unusual Bunnahabhain - in a good way! This is a peated NAS expression, which while not unusual for Islay, Bunnahabhain is usually an un-peated whisky.
The first taste is smooth, caramel sweet and smoky. As it develops in the mouth, you get the typical brine, alongside citrus and pepper which stays right through the medium long finish. The aftertaste is citrus, pepper and sweet smoke.
Overall, a delicious NAS dram. Definitely a favourite from Bunnahabhain.

@Scott_E @icsteel154 gotta give them credit—-not only does it taste good, but they’re holding up their culture and heritage through language.
@PBMichiganWolverine So funny. Reminds me of a conversation I had with an enthusiast. We were talking about Toiteach and how to pronounce it. He stated pronounce it like it’s a Klingon word from Star Trek. Was amusing. I guess you had to be there. It’s funny in my remembrance.
@PBMichiganWolverine Exactly! I’ve never understood buying any whisk(e)y to have it sat on a shelf!
@icsteel154 aaaah…yes. We yanks this side of the pond have the same sound. I feel that sound can be applied to many Scottish whiskey names. Thank god they’re delicious
@PBMichiganWolverine 😂 it’s a little easier coming from Scotland. It’s basically the sound of clearing your throat!
