The first notes are strongly seaweed-y and saline. It’s has a strong peat smoke flavour, which mellows into some light candied-fruit and citrus. The finish is long, dry and smoky. It’s a lovely dram and matches many of the Islay malts for peat and smoke.
This is one of the staples of my whisky cabinet. I never tend to think of it as a favourite, but it’s one I tend to have to replace regularly.
