Damn this is a very fine dram. It just got better and better. 4, 4.25 and touching 4.5. I reckon with more time it may have gone from 4.25 to 4.5 to solid 4.5.
Salty, barbecue, fig, orange fruits, smokey aftertaste which warms your mouth well after the whiskey is consumed. I'd love to work through a bottle as I reckon it could be the next Bunnahabhain 18 type sleeper hit which over a year just keeps getting better. Although saying that after time open I start getting that cat pee flavour unique to bowmore which grows prominant. Still i have to call it on what I have and at $250+USD I think a 4.25 is fair. I could get nearly 3 Bowmore 18s for that price.

@cascode thanks as always for the knowledge. The Bourbon only maturation made me pause!
@dubz480 Dorus Mor is the U.S. re-labelling of what is called Tempest in other markets. I have no idea why. Unlike most other Bowmore it is bourbon matured and at high abv. It is strongly batch variable but always intense, citric and salty. It's an unusual dram and unlike any other Bowmore. I'd strongly recommend a trial taste before buying a bottle. I adored the Batch 6 edition, but others hated it (see the reviews here for Bowmore Tempest 10 and Bowmore Tempest 10 Batch 6). The best bet IMHO is the 18 year old - good price, good whisky. My mantra for investing in Bowmore is "buy it old, buy it intense, or ignore it".
Sounds amazing. The 10 is going for $200+, if you can find it at all. I agree that the 18 is a much better buy.
@dhsilv2 Ah interesting. I just saw it sold at MoM and other sites at the around $250 price (albeit now sold out). The initial versions non CS i.e. not 'Double' the Devil, were a lot cheaper around the $100 mark.
@Soba45 i mean, I thought this was on the shelves a few months back for 100. But yes, the last Caol Ila 15 unpeated was bad and went for 190 here, insanity. Lag 12 is getting brutal too :(
@dhsilv2 Yeah the old trick of hey if we make it CS and a few other changes we can mkt it as premium and charge loads more e.g. Lagavullin 12 special release, Caol Ila 15 unpeated, and so on!
Wow 250...thought this was going for about 100. That's crazy
@dubz480 Oh the 18 is only 43% but I quite like the change of pace personally.
@dubz480 I'd go the 18. I've had a dozen bowmores and I'd place that at the top. It may not be better than this one but when you take VFM into account it wins hands down. I can get it for $90USD. Stay away from the 12, 15, 17 and just about every other Bowmore (I have a vintners sample still to try which I hear is excellent but not cheap so again VFM)
@dubz480 i don’t think I’ve heard of it. I think I’ve only had 2 bowmore—-an 18, and a 12. The 18 was really good
@dubz480 No but the reviews don't look that great from what i've seen!
Nice review! I really enjoyed this one as well and was able to purchase a battle later last year for right around $100. @Soba45 @PBMichiganWolverine either of you had the Dorus Mor? I can source that one for $100
@PBMichiganWolverine Yes it's definitely not a cheap dram. I think the double the devil (CS) was a lot more expensive then the 10 on release looking at MoMs old pricing. The 10 appears to sell for close to that now as well though.
Wow it’s $250!!!??? I got the original 10 yr Devil’s Cask for just under $80 when it came out
