Neat. Neck pour. Super rich. Floral at first but transitions to a baking spice bomb. Cinnamon. Burnt caramel. Nice cherry. Burnt sugar and French vanilla. It’s really nice. Perfectly balanced. None of the flavors are aggressive but they are distinct and rich.
Wow, it’s a roller coaster. A long roller coaster. I want to go for another sip but it’s still hitting me with flavors. Alright, the texture is super oily, thick but smooth. An overwhelming brown sugar and cherry sweetness is the first to strike. Flips into a cinnamon bomb, mutes for a second and then brings caramel, char, vanilla in waves. It finishes like a creme brûlée.
Holy shit. That is amazing. That may be the best bourbon I have ever had. Most expensive thing I have ever purchased but it is amazing.
Flavor is still coming. Wrote two paragraphs and the flavors are still coming in waves. I’m shocked.

I love batch 9... a lot of flavor with an enjoyable heat......GbV, GbV
@BillyT Hey Billy, Hard to say if it has evolved. The base profile feels the same. I may describe the cherries more like blueberries. It’s between a cherry and a grape, which I would say is blueberry. Never called out blueberry before. I also feel like the sweetness is way over the top today. Maybe just be whatever I have ate today but it puckers the lips like my mom’s 3 cups of sugar per glass Kool Aid. Floral is less, fruit intensity is off the charts - otherwise still the same notes as the neck pour. It’s a great pour and will be special of the occasion.
@BillyT Well twist my arm, I’ll try it again tomorrow... for science.
@BlimpsGo90 About 60 days until the big event: wagyu beef, 2007 Opus One, KO Batch 9.....and good friends plus a fine cigar. Planning to open the Batch 9 about 30 days in advance. I would love to hear how yours has evolved
@BillyT The way I see it, bottles always get better with some air time. So prime a taste for the main event and open it now rather than save the neck pour. 😉
Thanks for the in depth review. I bought a bottle a few months ago, but saving it for my 60th birthday on August 15th this year. Figured this is a major life event, and wanted something very special for that day....sounds like this Bourbon is worthy of the occasion. Can’t wait to ride the Batch 9 flavor wave.....cheers!
